William H. "Bill" Strunk Founder and Chairman
Bill Strunk, offers his clients over three decades of hands-on consulting experience in planning and implementing delivery systems for the financial services industry.
Throughout his time as a professional consultant, Bill has worked closely with bank, credit union, and savings & loan personnel at all levels, from the CEO to the drive-in teller. During his professional career, Bill has constantly tried to find more effective ways to reduce costs and increase delivery effectiveness. Consequently, he has developed numerous innovations which have become standards in the industry - head-on drive-in system, member satisfaction model, telebanking, PIN and signature identification system, totally shared ATM networks - to name but a few. Now Bill advises bank managers in selling customer services through an innovative system of overdraft privilege. Just more innovations resulting from the exhaustive research and planning performed by Strunk and Associates with the objective of delivering better bank service.
Bill has authored numerous articles on branch profitability and financial services delivery systems in trade journals and magazines. Bill has been guest speaker and presenter before financial industry trade groups, and bank professionals, in addition to serving on the faculty of Texas Tech School of Banking. Bill is routinely consulted by the print media about strategies deployed by the financial industry.

Mike Sobba President and CEO
Mike Sobba, President and CEO, began his banking career at the First National Bank in Topeka, Kansas after graduation from the University of Kansas in 1984. After working in the bank's training program, he started calling on bankers in Kansas while working in the correspondent department. Mike attended ABA's National Commercial Lending School in Norman, Oklahoma in 1986 and became manager of the correspondent division in 1988. After completing seven years of service at Bank IV (formerly FNB Topeka), he became the manager of the Correspondent Division of Commerce Bank in Kansas City in November 1991. His duties included managing a $50MM loan portfolio, selling operational services to downstream banks, and working with Capital Markets group and Investment Management area in the Midwest. He successfully completed work at the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, WI. in 1993.
Mike's civic involvment includes being past president of Topeka Chapter of the American Institute of Banking and he has served on numerous Missouri and Kansas Bankers Association committees. Mike and his wife, Debbie, have two boys, Chris and Nick. |

Randy Adams Senior Executive Vice President
Randall Adams, Senior Executive Vice President, has eleven years of experience specializing in management, data and item processing and telecommunications operations. His consulting activities include project management, system capability identification, operations improvement strategies and system conversion management in financial institutions for in-house and third party service providers. While at Prime Bank, he was responsible for Quality Assurance, system conversions, electronic federal tax payment systems and training back-office staff on continuous improvement philosophies. Previously, at First Heights Bank, he was responsible for start-up in-house item processing and proof department as well as strategic planning for all back-office functions. At First of America Bank, he significantly improved quality of the wire transfer department, implementing an on-line adjustment system, evaluated and implemented float improvement strategies, managed item processing and participated in strategic planning and implementation of corporate telecommunications network.
Mr.Adams received his BBA in Marketing and Finance from Western Michigan University. He has conducted various training sessions for banks in areas of bank operation and has completed various American Institute of Banking courses.

W. Marc Paine Executive Vice President
Marc Paine, Executive Vice President, has many years of experience in strategic management of check processing, data processing and all areas of back office operations. His consulting activities include strategic planning and implementation of operations and check/data processing capabilities for financial institutions and third parties that provide services to the financial services industry.
Mr. Paine joined Strunk & Associates with senior management experience in various financial services environments including credit unions, banks, thrifts and third party financial service bureaus. Before joining Strunk & Associates, Mr. Paine held the position of Data Processing Manager with Southwest Corporate Federal Credit Union (Southwest) located in Dallas, Texas. While at Southwest, he was instrumental in implementing policies and procedures that increased efficiency, saved money, reduced business risk and allowed the company to streamline operations. Mr. Paine has worked with several financial service bureaus managing both operations staff and overseeing a portfolio of clients consisting of credit union and banks.

David M. Escobedo Senior Vice President, Director of Information Technology and Compliance
David joined Strunk & Associates, L.P. in 1996, he rapidly progressed within the organization from a Data Analyst to Account Manager to Vice President of Information Systems. In 2002, he spearheaded the development of Strunk’s first generation ODP Manger System; it was the first third-party application designed to facilitate the management of overdrafts as a line of business. Since the first release, he has leveraged his wide-ranging experience working with numerous Financial Institutions & Data Processors to oversee the development of subsequent releases.
David currently manages the company’s ongoing compliance efforts and acts as the liaison between our legal team and clients to ensure program compliancy. In addition, he further refines ODP Best Practices based upon regulatory considerations and changes in market forces. His responsibilities also include continued enhancements to the company’s ODP Manager system, technical and general sales support, and special projects.
David studied at the University of Houston C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. He holds a B.Sc. in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. In addition, he has completed postgraduate management programs at Rice University.

Mike marks his 38th year in the financial services industry in 2008. Mike began his career working with two major banking organizations from 1970-1995, and occupied key leadership positions in commercial lending and retail banking services during those years. During this period, Mike successfully led organizational units through substantial changes in retail financial services delivery that culminated in responsibility for a half-billion dollar segment of a major east coast banking franchise.
Mike was responsible for the implementation of a wide range of culture-changing initiatives that included a variety of sales management and process improvement programs which resulted in substantial changes in organizational productivity and consultative sales capabilities.
From 1996-2002, Mike was the COO and then CEO of the customer-advantaged alliance programs for a major national banking trade association, and was responsible for creating programs and services for community bankers that created improvements for customer banks in profit enhancement, process improvement, and product/service differentiation for the member banks. Mike has worked with hundreds of community financial institutions to improve their bottom-line profitability and ability to compete in today's intensely competitive environment. During this period, Mike had the opportunity to survey the competitive landscape of discretionary overdraft programs, including all of the companies now active, as a result of which the Overdraft Privilege Strunk & Associates was chosen as the overwhelming candidate by his bank CEO Board of Directors as the program of choice for his association's endorsement.
Mike received his BS in Business Administration from George Mason University, and is a graduate of the Virginia School of Bank Management, the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University, and has attended banking courses at the Colgate Darden Business School at the University of Virginia. |

Rick Ivey, a seasoned sales professional, began his varied sales career over 11 years ago providing telecommunication and software solutions primarily to financial institutions. He attributes his success to his reputation for assisting his customers through the sales process to implementation and beyond. Prior to joining Strunk & Associates Rick was the Managing Partner Turnberry Beverages, a Southwest regional distribution company where he was in charge of operations and sales with full P&L responsibility. During his tenure at the company Turnberry Beverages sales increased by more than 100%. Prior to that Rick had a distinguished career as Director of Sales for Focal Communications, a nationwide telecommunications company where he managed multiple sales channels nationwide.
Rick received a BBA in Finance from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Bob Shifflett has held a number of corporate sales and management positions for firms providing technology products and services to community financial institutions. He has global experience as a co-owner of a privately held bank-consulting firm. Over his 30-year career, he has also held sales and management positions with FiServ BSD, Harland Financial, CMDS, World Computer/EDS, Mellon Bank, Data Systems Corporation and Strategic Concepts Ltd. He completed undergraduate work at James Madison University and did post-graduate work at the McIntire School of Commerce-University of Virginia as well as the Virginia Graduate School of Bank Management.

Sean Smith comes to Strunk & Associates with over a decade of successful sales, marketing and management experience in the financial services sector. Over the past 10 years Sean has held several positions with industry leading organizations like CO-OP Financial Services and has also taught business classes at MiraCosta College. While Sean is proud of his many successes working with financial institutions, he is quick to point out that none of it would be possible without top notch communication, attention to detail and a genuinely honest approach.
As Vice President - Western Region Sales at Strunk & Associates, Sean looks forward to continuing to work with banks and credit unions to enhance their retail products and services, as he did for many years on the card processing side with ATM, Debit, Credit and Prepaid card processing solutions.
A lifetime native of Southern California, Sean lives in the San Diego, CA area with his family and two dogs. Sean holds a BS in Behavioral Science and MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of La Verne which he completed in 2001.
